ISO (15-digit, 134.2 kHz) microchips are recommended for pets that may travel to Europe or Canada. Microchip scanners that read the ISO microchip 134.2 kHz frequency include: AKC Reunite ProScan 700; AKC Reunite QuickScan 650; AKC Reunite WandScan 900, HomeAgain Universal Worldscan; Datamars IMAX5; Green AVID 1034/3 MiniTracker 3.
Normally $15 to add the service, the Lost Pet Alert provides around-the-clock assistance for you when your pet goes missing. When you add this life-saving service to your pet's AKC Reunite enrollment, an entire network of veterinarians, shelters, and pet lovers in the area your pet was last seen will be alerted to be on the lookout for your missing pet.

LIFETIME RECOVERY SERVICE ENROLLMENT

There is no additional charge to enroll a microchip with prepaid enrollment with AKC Reunite for as long as the pet's ownership is not transferred. Microchips with prepaid enrollments are not eligible for Enrollment Rewards Program points.

ABOUT INDI MINI-CHIPS: Because Indi Mini-chips are only 8mm long, they have a smaller antenna than a traditional 12mm microchip. By nature, the smaller antenna has a somewhat shorter read range than a standard-sized microchip. Since the scanner has to be closer to the pet to detect and read a minichip, please consider the following before choosing any minichip:

To ensure a microchip is readable for the life of the pet, it is critically important to consider the adult characteristics of the pet when choosing a microchip for a puppy or kitten.
The indi minichip is ideal for cats, birds, guinea pigs, ferrets, and dogs with smooth and short coats and thinner skin with no thick skin folds.
This product is NOT recommended for horses, pets with dense or long coats, pets with thick folds of skin or in pets with a potential to become obese.
